Privacy Statement

Speedrun and No Backspace Crew LLC are committed to protecting the privacy and accuracy of confidential information to the extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law. Other than as required by laws in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access, personal information is not actively shared. In particular, we do not re-distribute or sell personal information collected on our web servers.

Information collected

speedrun.nobackspacecrew.com, the Speedrun API and the aliases godspeed.run and slaymode.com collect the following information:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address of computer being used
  • web pages requested
  • referring web page
  • browser used
  • date and time

In addition to the IP address/browser information collected from anonymous visitors to the site, other information is accessed when the Speedrun GitHub App is authorized.

To use the API to assume AWS roles, the following information is accessed and included in a session token:

  • GitHub username
  • GitHub organizations membership
  • Github teams membership

When using the userscript, the following information is accessed and doesn't leave the browser:

On the AWS Console:

  • Current AWS role for creating deep links to the current location in the AWS Console
  • Date ranges specified in the AWS CloudWatch console for use in future requests

On the GitHub website:

  • GitHub username
  • GitHub markdown content strictly for the purpose of rendering Speedrun markdown
  • GitHub issue urls for the purpose of listing recent issues

Accessing AWS IAM Roles

AWS IAM Roles authorized for use by the Speedrun API are only assumed for the sole purpose of vending temporary credentials authorized by the roles' trust policy to an authorized Github user. The temporary credentials are never stored, logged or shared. Only the Speedrun API will assume roles. Under no circumstance will anyone other than authorized users in the roles' trust policy be able to assume the role. Any access to roles, and the authorized GitHub user used to access them can be reviewed in your AWS CloudTrail logs. It is the responsibility of the AWS IAM Role owner to ensure that the trust policy is configured to only allow authorized users to assume the role.

Use of collected information

speedrun.nobackspacecrew.com will only use personal information collected from this site for the purpose of communication back to individuals who contact us via the site. It uses browser-IP-address information and anonymous-browser history to report information about site accesses and for profiling purposes. This information is used to improve Web presentation and utilization. IP address information may also be used for troubleshooting purposes.

Distribution of collected information

speedrun.nobackspacecrew.com will not disclose, without your consent, personal information collected about you, except for certain explicit circumstances in which disclosure is required by law. speedrun.nobackspacecrew.com will not distribute or sell personal information to third-party organizations.

Privacy Statement revisions

This Privacy Statement was last revised on 10/31/2022. We may change this Privacy Statement at any time and for any reason. We encourage you to review this Privacy Statement each time you visit the web site. If we make a significant change to our Privacy Statement, we will post a notice on the homepage of our web site for a period of time after the change is made.
